Major earthquake shakes near Tadine, New Caledonia

A magnitude 7 earthquake was reported 68 km ENE of Tadine, New Caledonia, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The earthquake occured Friday 25th September 2026 23:23 GMT and struck at a depth of 17 kilometers.
It is likely this earthquake has caused serious damage over larger areas.
